The national final of the 16th "FLTRP Amazon Cup" National English Debating Competition was held in FLTRP International Convention Center from 15th to 20th July. Tsinghua First-year students Ye Jianjian from the School of Law and Shi Wen from the School of Social Sciences participated in the contest on behalf of Tsinghua University. Their excellent performance made them First Prize winners of the five-day tournament. In addition, Ye Jianjian was awarded a Best Speaker Prize for his outstanding individual performance. The coach of the team, Wei Liwei, a postgraduate student from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures also won a prize for her good work as an adjudicator.

The 16th "FLTRP Amazon Cup" National English Debating Competition is organized by the School Department of the Communist Youth League of China, the Secretariat of All-China Students Federation and Beijing Foreign Studies University. After heated regional tournaments, 96 teams broke into the national final.
